My husband and I are long-time residents of St. Charles, Illinois, a far western Chicago suburb. I have been quilting since the early 1980s, never having learned how to operate a sewing machine until I was an adult! I graduated from Marquette University (Milwaukee, where I grew up) in...let's just say, the early 70s... with a degree in English and taught junior high and high school English off and on, while raising my family. We have 2 children: our 25-year-old daughter (another MU graduate) who is in Marketing (and doesn't sew), lives in Oak Park and is, thankfully, off our payroll. Our 23-year-old son is a soon-to-be 2nd year medical student at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons in New York City.
I am an avid quilter and beader, former retail shop owner of QBU Prairie Shop in the western Chicago suburb of Batavia (5 arthritic years later) and I love online shopping!! I am also available for guild lectures and workshops and have designed a number of quilt patterns. My "handle" is the Eclectic Quilter which pretty much describes me--I love art quilts, miniatures, reproductions, crazy quilting--you name it--I've made it and it all interests me, as does the fabric, of course.
Beading is my second passion and I offer kits, books and magazines online. We also take beads with us to the shows we vend.
